Fiction: United Water has chosen the Haverstraw Water Supply Project to increase shareholder profits.

Fact: Choosing the least expensive of the viable options will result in lower profits for United Water's shareholders. United Water's fiduciary responsibility to our customers always comes first, though, and we are pursuing the Haverstraw Water Supply Project because it best suits our customers' needs.

Fiction: The proposed treatment plant will needlessly raise customers' bills.

Fact: The New York State Public Service Commission carefully reviews United Water's conclusions and proposals to ensure that today's customers' interests are protected while investments are made to meet an established need for more water.
